James Feuer is an award-winning, critically-acclaimed, London-trained classical theater, film, and television actor who has worked with HBO, BBC, 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures Classics, Deaf West, Academy Award Winner Troy Kotsur, and Academy Award Nominees Armando Iannucci and Paul Raci, Josh Radnor, and Mina Tander.

BIOGRAPHY

Feuer was raised in Greenwich, CT, so he’s pretty uptight…but he’s Jewish, so at least he feels guilty about it.

Age 2: As a baby he actually crawled backwards, beginning a long tradition of dwelling in the past and avoiding confrontation.

Age 4: In nursery school, James played Papa Bear in Goldilocks, forgot his only line, and spent the day in his trailer, eating paste.

Age 5: James performed Monty Python skits with his brother for their grandparents at Thanksgiving. Their grandparents’ response: “They’ve grown.”

Age 7: A friend’s father mentioned he was a psychiatrist. Quoting Steve Martin, James replied, “So, making money off the mentally ill, eh?” That was awkward.

Age 8: Growing up in waspy, preppy Greenwich, CT, his older brother warned him not to tell anyone they were Jewish. So they bought a Christmas tree, stopped wearing socks, and wore boats shoes everywhere. They didn’t have a boat, nor did they sail.

Age 10: At a family therapist’s office filled with elephant statues, nobody spoke for a long time, until young James finally asked the doctor, “So… what are you, a republican?”

Age 14: James performed his Jimmy Stewart impression at summer camp, received his first standing ovation, and then the wedgies stopped.

Age 18: James audited Uta Hagen’s class in New York City. No joke here. It was amazing.

REFERENCE

“A joy to work with. With energy, playfulness and innovative characterizations, he performed five distinct characters with different accents … brought humor … boldness of choice … professional commitment, discipline, intelligence and responsiveness.  He prepares; he experiments; he listens, and responds to direction.  He is a magnetic, strong stage presence; he is innovative; he is agile, and possesses a deep, resonant voice.  Consistently, I find his work brave, and poignant. James makes his audience think anew about the lives, stories and themes he investigates. He has the ability to make us laugh, as well as walk to ‘the edge’ with him.” --Melody James, Director
